Introductory:-
Alongwith the increase of
irrigation facility, some problems are also created problem of water
disposal in command area is related to the increase of consumption of
irrigation. Water disposal problem is a problem of water logging.
Shallow soil till depth in command area results in consumption of more
irrigation water and water logging. Because of the formation and
nature of this land, total quantity of irrigated water does not get
absorbed. This kind of water logging causes issues like decomposition,
insects epidemic and of crop like. Due to increase in ground water
table and salinity in the land, disposal of water has become
necessary.
Along with the
rise of irrigation in Mahi command area
and Tapi command area, water disposal problem has worn a gigantic form
Hence, time bound planning has been made and water logging problem in
these two areas is being disposal off. For this task master plan of Rs.
29.95 crore was sanctioned. These division do the works of O.F.D.
beside sub-divisions. In Tapi area, one land survey division three
water disposal division and twelve sub-divisions are working. For the
water disposal works of Tapi area master plan of Rs. 10.49 crore was
sanctioned, against which revised master plan has been sanctioned,
which is to the tune of Rs. 3895 lakh. In this area, saline area is
16,558 hectare. For this following works are included.

registered in 1-5 meter depth.
For water disposal works in Mahi command area, master
plan of Rs. 19.46 crore was sanctioned, against which revised master
plan of Rs. 30.94 has been sanctioned. Due to heavy rainfall in the
Mahi command area it has become necessary to increase flow capacity of
main canals and sub canals. Now revised drainage master plan of Rs.
