As the present Govt. has envisaged, priority has been given to water supply to "No source Areas" of Kutch, Saurashtra and other areas, provision of wells and hand pumps for drinking water in rural areas and recharging of wells and Hand pumps under "The Drinking Water Operation"

          With a view to view to carryout work of schemes relating to drinking water and drainage of consumable water in the state, The State Govt. has constituted Gujarat Water supply and sewerage Board since 1979. The Board involves in works of commissioning the projects of drinking water such as individual water supply project, community water supply project etc. It also takes up works sewerage projects in association with local organizations and other work of water supply and sanitation program.
